Anam Cara is my new album which will be available in the next few months. The files below are short samples from the full tracks to give you a taste for what is coming. For more details please get in touch using the options on the Contact Us page. You can either click on the icon to launch the sample in a seperate window, or right click and save it to your computer.
These first videos are from our first live concert which took place in our lovely church, Our Lady of the Assumption in Stainforth, on 13 June 2010. Click on any of the purple icons to view the videos on YouTube. The first one, "Anam Cara" is the promotional video for this piece, but the rest are live.
Inspirations of Lourdes is a tape collection we did what seems a very long time ago with Stainforth in Song. The recordings were multitracked on an old Tascam Portastudio, and we don't have access to any decent recordings. However, do enjoy what there is, tape hiss and all! Please click on any of the icons below to load and listen to a file. They vary in size to about 3.5 Megabytes, shouldn't take too long to load on a decent connection. You can either click on the icon to launch the sample in a seperate window, or right click and save it to your computer.
Coming soon....................... Kumbaya is a spiritual song dating from the 1930's. It is obviously strongly influenced by African-American traditions, but there are also Hebrew connotations in the "YAH" part of the name (Yahweh). "Kum-ba yah" means, literally, "Come By My God", but the name is usually written as "Kumbaya" these days. It is a song aften associated with children, and my particular memories of it are with the HCPT in Lourdes. It was often sung at bedtime, with each verse getting quieter as the children went to sleep (well that was the plan!) with the following words for the last verse:
That is one of the best things about the whole song - you can adapt the words to reflect what you want. I saw "Kumbaya" at the HCPT Trust Mass with 5000 doing actions for the first time in 1997, and I decided to do this little animation to show how it should be done. So, without further ado, if you want to learn how to do the actions, click on the image of Ellen below (she was named in honour of the first Group Leader of HCPT Group 101 in Doncaster):
Please note that the animation will open in a new window - if you have popups blocked in your browser, you may have to enable them to see it. |
